Responding to the “Month of Action for the Environment” On the morning of June 29, in Phuoc Thai commune (Dong Nai province), Vedan Vietnam Joint Stock Company cooperated with the Fly To Sky charity organization under the sponsorship of the National Volunteer Center and Phuoc Thai Commune Youth Union to carry out the campaign “Picking up trash to protect the environment 2024”, contributing to protecting the environment and cleaning Phuoc Thai commune.
The campaign “Picking up trash to protect the environment 2024” took place very enthusiastically with the participation of Mr. Ko Chung Chih (Deputy General Director of Vedan Vietnam Company), Mr. Nguyen Duc Hiep (Vice Chairman of Phuoc Thai Commune People’s Committee), delegates, youth union members of Phuoc Thai commune and Vedan Company. The goal of the program is to raise awareness of environmental protection for Vedan employees and people living in the surrounding area and contribute to the journey of greening – cleaning – beautifying Phuoc Thai commune, creating a good environment for children of Phuoc Thai Kindergarten when entering the new school year. The campaign has collected garbage in the area behind Phuoc Thai market, the road to the neighboring residential area (where there are many spontaneous landfills), thereby returning the clean and beautiful environment that this place has.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ko Chung Chih (Deputy General Director of Vedan Vietnam) shared: “… Throughout the process of construction and development, the company has always considered Phuoc Thai commune, Long Thanh district as its hometown. For Vedan, people are the most valuable asset, so activities to care for community health are always annual and dedicated activities. Through today’s program, Vedan Vietnam wishes to join hands with the government and people of Phuoc Thai commune in particular, and the people of Dong Nai province in general… to try to create more clean and green spaces, raise awareness of environmental protection, protect public health…”.
Representative of Phuoc Thai commune, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hiep (Vice Chairman of Phuoc Thai Commune People’s Committee) shared: “This campaign is extremely meaningful, clearly demonstrating Vedan Vietnam’s concern for public health and is an example of action for the environment. On behalf of the people of Phuoc Thai commune, I would like to sincerely thank the employees of Vedan Company. We hope to have many more such cooperations in the future”.
With the motto “Love the environment – Long-term business”, “Safe company – Healthy people” according to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Vedan Vietnam regularly organizes propaganda and education to raise awareness of employees about the harmful effects of plastic waste, classify waste, limit the use of plastic bags and replace them with environmentally friendly products.
